Ethiopia Tigist Wako - Natural - Wholesale
We Taste - Peach, gardenia, buttercream
As one of the few women landowners in the Gedeb Zone, Mrs. Tigist Wako faces challenges and takes pride in running one of the larger coffee farms in the area. Wako's high-elevation harvest excels due in part to her selection and management of superlative coffee berry disease resistant varieties from Jimma Agricultural Research Centre (JARC). Wako's sweetly fermented Natural process showcases classic coffee cherry flavors, while our light roasting preserves a tangy stone fruit juiciness that brews perfectly at long ratio by-the-cup preparations and nearly "lungo" espresso pulls.
Not too long ago, it was rare to find single farmer lots from Ethiopia. Not anymore. Although we still find value in community lots from the birthplace of coffee, we can't ignore the increased transparency, traceability, and better prices being paid to these single farmers for their specific work, sold under their name.
