We Taste - Milky Way candy bar, sweet lemon, apple spice

In a meet cute right out of a rom-com, Vignette's co-founders fell in love sourcing coffee by way of our mutual friend Josue Morales from Los Volcanes in Guatemala City. On the fateful day trip that sparked our romance, Josue drove us to the coffee lands of El Progreso. When not flirting, we got to observe how the massive Sierra de las Minas mountains block the sea winds from the Caribbean, creating a dry, potentially less-favorable climate. Fortunately, the lack of precipitation is offset by the Rio Motagua and other waterways that feed the town of San Antonio La Paz. The coffees grown in this terroir are unique to Guatemala, but are overshadowed by regions like Antigua and Huehuetenango. Josue strives to elevate the mountainous Sierra de las Minas region by sharing education with farmers on biodynamics, natural methods of insect and fungal control, as well as extensive farm management systems. Los Volcanes additionally wet processes partner-farmers' freshly-picked Bourbon and Caturra cherries at their Antigua-based wet mill, Nueva Esperanza. Knowing the care Josue takes both with friends and farmers, the coffees he helps create will be very sweet, well-balanced at a medium roast, and a little bright, perfect for sharing with your loved ones.
