Dedicated to the farmers of southern Mexico, fresh crop Cristal features washed coffees from the states of Chiapas, Oaxaca, and Veracruz. Longtime exporter AMSA purchases ripe cherries from small holder farmers and processes them in the washed tradition, making for a sweet, balanced cup. At a dark roast, expect sweet toasted nutty flavors like praline, supported by a deep, caramelly body with a full body. Cristal stands out as a single origin espresso and in richer preparations thanks to its ample body and classic coffee sweetness.
