We Taste - Golden grahams, cherry cola, vanilla
Humans have been growing crops in the fertile Waghi Valley of Papua New Guinea for at least 9,000 years. Towering mountains create a cool tropical climate built on a foundation of rich volcanic soil. Local smallholder farmers bring freshly-picked coffee cherry to Ulya Wet Coffee Mill from May-July. Through September, the mill pulps, washes, and dries special arabica varieties like Bourbon and Typica. The ripeness, the varities, and the attention to detail in processing all add up to a super sweet character that imparts a light tartness ensconced in a medium, creamy body. Medium roasting balances sugar browning character (vanilla, graham, chocolate) with ripe fruit (black cherry, dried citrus) and a little spice (molasses, cinnamon). Versatile in approach, Ulya will impress across all brew methods at a week off-roast.
